ABOUT MRWAC
Who We Are
Who We Are
MRWAC is a basin-scale collaborative focused on advancing water stewardship across the Mississippi River Basin.
The collaborative brings together public, private, nonprofit, and regional stakeholders to identify shared water challenges and support implementation of high-impact watershed projects.
Why the Mississippi River Basin Matters
The Mississippi River Basin is one of the most important watersheds in North America, supporting agriculture, industry, ecosystems, drinking water supplies, transportation networks, and local communities across multiple states.
The basin also faces significant challenges related to nutrient runoff, water quality degradation, flooding, climate variability, and ecosystem stress.
MRWAC Approach
MRWAC uses scientific analysis, stakeholder engagement, and portfolio development to identify and showcase high-quality water stewardship projects that address shared basin priorities. Rather than directly implementing projects, MRWAC helps connect companies, foundations, and other funders with vetted projects and programs capable of delivering measurable watershed outcomes.
The collaborative seeks to align funding, partnerships, and implementation efforts around shared basin priorities.
